Announcing the Chad Dempsey Scholarship Application Now Open
We are excited to announce that the application for the Chad Dempsey Scholarship Fund is now open! This scholarship honors the legacy of Chad Dempsey, a beloved music educator, father, husband, and friend, who inspired countless individuals with his passion, dedication, and positive spirit.
Each year, four deserving band students from the Edinburg Consolidated Independent School District will be awarded a minimum of $500 scholarship. One student from each of the following schools will be selected:
- Edinburg High School
- Edinburg North High School
- Economedes High School
- Robert Vela High School
Eligibility and Criteria
Applicants should demonstrate:
- Inspirational character traits
- Leadership qualities
- A passion for music
- Dedication to their education and community
How to Apply
To apply, please complete the application form here and submit all required documents by [deadline date]. Required documents include:
- A completed application form
- A personal essay detailing your musical journey and how you embody the qualities Chad championed
- Two letter of recommendation (one from a band director or music teacher)
- Proof of enrollment in your school’s band program
Deadline
Applications must be submitted by Thursday, June 27, 2024, by 5:00 p.m.. Recipients will be announced on July 4, 2024.
